Iwan Fals Wants to Hold Concert in Monas

Virgiawan Listanto or who is familiarly called Iwan Fals visited City Hall to meet with Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Friday (6/27). The arrival of the legendary musician was to ask for permission to hold a concert at National Monument (Monas) in November. However, Basuki could not confirm whether the concert permit could be held because of several studies.

In India, it is said that 500 thousand people sang the national anthem. Hopefully if we can gather 4 million people and break the record

As a musician, Iwan Fals is very concerned with the problems in the country, in particular with the public order, littering, and environmental awareness.

"The issue of the environment is how we care about trees, not littering, caring and not be ignorant," said Iwan Fals at City Hall, Friday (6/27).

Littering, 3 Residents Executed

If he has gotten the concert permit, the music concert is going to be held with the target of 4 million viewers and can break the record for the largest number of spectators and singers of the national anthem ever.

"In India, it is said that 500 thousand people sang the national anthem. Hopefully if we can gather 4 million people and break the record. Another the largest number of viewers was in Moscow in Metallica concert of 1.5 million people," he added.

Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, welcomed the idea of the concert. Nevertheless, it would be relevant to examine its technical plan and expediency. In that occasion, Basuki asked Iwan Fals to make a song about the capital city residents who often littering.

"We are examining currently. We want to create a new song. We are thinking about the song is too rough in ‘who litter are just monkeys’," Basuki uttered.
